Ozone: A Possible Agent that Delays the Chronic Renal Failure
نویسندگان
چکیده
Chronic renal failure (CRF) represents a world health problem. The aim of this paper is to evaluate the effect of ozone therapy, in the renal function and morphology, in an experimental model of CRF. Rats were divided into 4 groups: 1-negative control, rats without any treatment; 2-positive control, rats submitted to 5/6 reduction of the total renal mass (right kidney nephrectomy, with 2 branches of the renal arteria, of the left kidney, clamped); 3-ozone, as group 2, but receiving, rectally, 7 sessions of ozone (0.5 mg/kg), previously to the surgery procedure and twice per week (during 10 weeks) after the partial nephrectomy; 4oxygen, as group 3, but receiving oxygen instead of ozone. Ozone oxidative preconditioning effect protected the tissues against the oxidative stress present in the CRF, being in correspondence with the positive histological results obtained.

Background and Objectives: Chronic renal failure (CRF) is an irreversible disorder of the renal function. The aim of this study was to describe the features of patients with chronic renal failure and the factors associated with this disease among hemodialysis patients in a hospital in Tehrn in 2016. Methods: In this cross-sectional descriptive study, patients presenting to the hemodialysis...

At 30 minutes after intravenous administration of the glomerular renal agent TC-99m-DTPA, both right and left lateral views were obtained. We analyzed the ratio of optical densities (behind the ureter/In front of the ureter). In patients without gross renal failure or retroperitoneal disease, the ratio was always less than 1 (range 0.38 to 0.95, mean 0.68). This represents greater perfusi...
متن کاملALUMINUM TOXICITY: A REVIEW IN RELATION TO CHRONIC RENAL FAILURE PATIENTS M AINTAINED ON REGULAR HEMODIALYSIS
Aluminum is present in very small amounts in living organisms but abundant in the environment. A growing literature links with the biochemistry of aluminum and also with a series of diseases in chronic renal failure patients on treatment with hemodialysis. The initial description of potential aluminum toxicity in renal failure patients relates to description of dialysis encephalopathy syndr...

Background & Aims of the Study: Ozone is a summer pollutant which can cause respiratory complications, eye burning sensation and failure of immune defense against infectious diseases. Ahvaz city (southwestern Iran) is one of the seven polluted Iranian metropolises. In this study we examined the health impacts of ozone pollution in Ahvaz city during years 2010 and 2011. Ma...
متن کاملLactulose efficacy in reduction of nitrogen products, blood potassium and fluid overload in patients with end-stage renal failure.
Abstract Introduction. Chronic kidney disease (CKD) is a major public health problem that often goes unrecognized until late-stage disease. Patients with chronic kidney disease (CKD) face with uremic toxins and hyperkalemia. Also fluid overload in CKD patients is associated with rapid decline in kidney function. Lactulose is a hyper osmotic agent and as a prebiotic could reduce serum urea and p...
